seedling id please

posted this seedling a few months ago when it was much smaller (leaves were about 4" long), some suggested it might be a bay.

now its bigger and the larger leaves are about 8" long.

any thoughts?

Looks like a magnolia seedling to me- and we have plenty of 'em...

I agree it looks like a magnolia.
Just FYI you have a pepper vine growing to the left of it in the 2nd photo.
They can be kind of a nuisance.

If you have room, transplant it and observe it for a while. Might be the next big thing! ...especially if seed came from one of the more diminuitive cultivars like Teddy Bear or Little Gem.
