| A friend emailed these photos for ID. My first guesses were Catalpa or Syringa, but I'm not at all confident in either of those ID's.
The tree is growing in northwest New Jersey, Z6. He's never noticed flowers/fruit/seeds. |

| It looks like the Syringa's in too much shade. I can't see the leaf arrangement to verify that though. |
