| Flower is cream colored, maybe something like a snapdragon, the flowers are all located

| Thanks carrieb and jeanne, sorry carol23, don't know why you received that error. Thanks to your leads I id'd it as Baptisia alba (L.) Vent. var. macrophylla, which is the variety present here in Michigan. The species Baptisia alba itself was kind of misleading because of it's growth habit, it's flower stalks droop downward and it's more bushy, whereas the variety macrophylla has very upright flower stalks and is more leggy (not as many leaves).
