Name That Plant!

Berry or pest?

Hello! This new little plant sprung up in my yard recently, amongst the snap peas. It has smallish white flowers with yellow insides, and clusters of "berries" in multiple places. A friend suggested that it may be coriander berries, but the plant doesn't look or smell like any cilantro I've ever seen. Any thoughts?

One of the small-flowered Solanum species.

Maybe Solanum ptychanthum, Eastern Black Nightshade. If so, the ripe berries will be black. Poisonous.

I agree, definitely solanum, and a weed. Similar species here, but blooms purple. Very distinctive odor when leaves and stems are bruised--pungent and not too pleasant.

Could it be Horse Nettle, Solanum carolinense? A weed none the less.

Solanum carolinense (Carolina horse nettle) is full of thorns. You can't miss them! The leaves are less shiny, more matte (less pepper, more tomato).
