| Is there a flowering crab apple tree nearby? |

| No nearby trees, but there is a bird feeder. I'm not sure if this came from the birds or if it was something planted long ago. |

| Malus never produce leaves divided into distinct leaflets. This looks quite like Rubus, if you check there may be discernible stem prickles. |
