Need ID again

This came up in my flower bed this spring. If it's a weed, it's a first for me, and there is only the one. I've been watching it but so far I just can't identify it. Any ideas?
BTW, I live in north/central Manitoba.

Possibly Elderberry, Sambucus canadensis.

I think so too.

Yes, it is...I have them all over my yard this year...I think they grew under the snow, because it's my "how'd this get so big" weed.

Interesting what the birds will bring! I guess I'll put it into a pot for now and plant it in a wild area later. Or should I just destroy it?
As far as I know, they don't grow around here.

Unless you can find a definitive answer as to which elderberry you have, whether or not it is native, and then find some reference to its being a threatened species in your area, there is no need to plant it in the wild. Even if you went through all that and determined you needed to transplant it in the wild, the chances for it to survive after transplanting without care for the first summer are very low.

Sambucus canadensis is native to Manitoba. I don't know how far north it grows in that province.

Here is a link that might be useful: Sambucus canadensis

Would it be a desirable plant? I could give it to someone who has a large rural property.

I find Sambucus canadensis desirable plants. The flowers and berries both have visual appeal and edible/herbal uses.
