It looks like one of the morning glories.

Looks like the wild potato vine, to me...Ipomoea pandurata.

Thank you both. I don't see how the pink area in the throat can become larger as the flower closes, but can't find an Ipomoea option to the I. pandurata species. I guess it must be Wild Potato Vine. Those non-typical plants drive me nuts - lol.

I agree that the vine posted is Ipomoea pandurata...everthing about the plant spells Ipomoea pandurata including the relatively rare ridged sepals...

The colored area in the throat may appear to get larger as the flower closes and the outer limb edges fold inward thus making the throat area appear larger in relation to the remaining smaller white limb area...
additionally there is some degree of reddish pigment that extends outward from the colored throat that is not initially visible to the human eye but as the degradational enzyme levels increase and turn white area to reddish, the reddish area may 'expand' a bit...

Ipomoea pandurata can be self-infertile and require another Ipomoea pandurata plant (preferably from a different geographic strain) to induce good seed set...

Thanks, Ron - I thought this one would be up your street. I hope you stick around on this forum. There're some interesting puzzles to work on. (For those of you who don't know Ron - I found him over on Vines and was impressed by his knowledge. I thought I could lure him over here with a MG/bindweed question.)

flora_uk - I'm willing to help out where I can although since I specialize in the Morning Glory Family of Convolvulaceae I tend to limit my comments to plants within that group or to plants which may look like some type of MG whereupon then I may be able to help by process of elimination...
