This is in front of my parents' house. They appear to be in zone 8a, at about 6000 feet elevation. The shrub is hardy, pretty, and I want to see if it would grow in Dallas, if I can figure out just what it is. :-)

Hrmmm...yew? Does yew stay small? This hedge doesn't seem to get taller than shown. My dad does very little, if any, maintenance on it. He may have pruned it a little one time, and I think he gave it water once. Otherwise it's looked pretty much like this for the 10 years they've been in that house. I'll ask him about berries.
