Not sure what shrub this is in front of my house. Can anyone help?

What are the flowers like? Does it produce berries?

Perhaps a camelia?

It's helpful, sometimes if you put your location and/or USDA zone in so we have a sense of the climate the plant is growing in. Notice that my location and zone are next to my username above.

It could be tea olive - Osmanthus fragrans. The flowers are quite tiny, but fragrant.

WA State. I think it had a long yellow flower, not in bloom now.

Maybe I'm remembering wrong, maybe it had tiny little yellow flowers, so maybe a Tea Olive, hmmmm

Definitely a camellia and not an Osmanthus, which produces paired leaves.

I wish I could remember what the flowers looked like.

There is no question it is a camellia, probably a Camellia japonica cultivar. Some of the flowers of these often shrivel and persist on the shrub, perhaps this one did not bloom.
