One and a half ft tall, flat leaves, topped with a prickly green ball of seeds. Anyone?

Datura stramonium, known by the common names Jimson weed is considered a weed by some.

This plant is all green. No flowers. It is wonderful in a dryed arrangement, when the seed balls turn brown.

If it has seed heads, it has flowered.

Maybe some type of coneflower (Echinacea) or rudbeckia? But in order to have a "seedball" it had to have had some type of inflorescence.

No, it has never flowered. The little balls that are very spikey just turn brown. Maybe THEY are the flower?

Perhaps a type of Cyperus. I don't think they are easy to identify.
