Plant Identification please

I bought this at the Mobile Botanical Garden plant sale a few years ago. It was brought by one of their members to sell and I think they said it was purple shield. I know now that was not correct. It dies out in the winter but just pops up all over the place in my yard in the spring and summer.
It reminds me of coleus and has purple/green with purple tint leaves.

Perilla frutescens?

Def. not Persian Shield - (Strobilanthes dyerianus) which is tropical.

It would help if these plants were labeled with botanical names. You want to make sure you're not getting something invasive!

RE: Plant Identification please

Acalypha Wilkesiana Haleakala?

RE: Plant Identification please

After researching, I thought it was some type of perilla but wanted confirmation. Thanks.

RE: Plant Identification please

I believe this is basil, a purple basil. This stuff grew wild when I lived in Arkansas, reseeded very easily.

RE: Plant Identification please

Perilla frutescens. Not basil.

RE: Plant Identification please

Ok, think Perilla frutescens is it. Thanks everyone!
