parking lot Portulaca?

I've tried a few times to liberate this tiny plant I've only ever seen baking in cracks in the pavement of parking lots, or at the very edges of parking lots. Seems like there's always just sand under there so I planted it in sand from the tire-rut in my "driveway." Since it's been over a month and it has made a few blooms, I think it's going to live. Occasionally I put a few dribbles of water on it. I didn't have anything dark but was hoping the oy.ster shells would reflect some heat like it apparently likes and it's in a tiny glass conservatory (if that's the right word for that thing.)

Could it possibly be P. pilosa?

Here is a link that might be useful: some info

Thanks! I found a confusing passage: "The Plants are annual. The flowering can be from late spring to early fall. They are year-round in south Florida." Does that mean they are really tender perennials or that the seeds sprout year-round in FL? Or that they bloom all year?

Are all Portulacas annuals? I got confused trying to find anything NOT about purslane or moss roses.

Portulaca are tender perennials that also reseed prolifically. You can also take stem cuttings from any kind of portulaca.

Thanks! I did manage to get some roots with this, but have stored the info in case it does well I can share some sometime.

It was in the middle of huge expanse of blacktop parking lot at the bank across the street, in a crack. It's so very cute, I'll see what it thinks about coming inside for the winter if it's still alive then. If it starts looking bad, I'll put it in the driveway and drive over it. Seems to like that. Ha!
