 o
Banana plant ID

I've had this banana plant for a month now. Musa was the only thing on the plant label. I know banana plants are nearly impossible to ID until they flower, but I was wondering if someone could still tell me the possible cultivar? When I first got the banana plant it had a lot of powder on the pstem and on the backside of the leaves. Now its grown 4 new leaves since I've had it, and the new leaves are a very light green to nearly yellow. There is a pink/red stripe in the midrib of the leaf. The edges of the leaves have a thin red line too. I'll probably have to bring it indoors during winter, but I would love to know which cultivar it is, so I can know the total height of the plant. Thanks

The Cavendish banana is the most common banana sold for ornamental use.

I looked up Cavendish banana but the young leaves on mine do not have the red markings like the Cavendish bananas do.

I looked at my Musa velutina plants, Pink velvet banana, which is solely ornamental and it has the red 'rib' marking, but no red edge.

I had a Musa Velutina a couple of years ago, but it was only a baby plant. I wonder if it could be Blue Java aka Ice Cream or orinoco?
