generally.. it would be called a grandiflora ... meaning many flowers per branch ... unless they changed the terminology ...

i suggest you try one of the three rose forums.... they might get you a name ...

looks like you have some milkweed in it also ...

it would look a lot better.. if all the dead canes were removed ...

or.. its not yours and you dont care... lol ...

My guess would be a Knock Out - a kind of shrub rose.

'grandiflora ... meaning many flowers per branch' . Grandiflora means large flowered - maybe you're thinking of 'floribunda?'

The "general catagory" is Polyantha, a forerunner of the more recent "floribunda'. Polyanthas have smaller flowers than floribundas, in large clusters as in the photo. It is not 'Knock Out'. Might possibly be 'Eutin' which is an old cultivar, often passed along from one gardener to another, and tough as nails, which it needs to be to survive in Colorado.

The other possibility that comes to mind is one of the 'Meidiland' ground cover series of roses--very polyantha-like but more modern--they are also extremely hardy and can come back from the roots after a frigid winter.
