Our office got this woody plant as a gift several years ago and we're stumped on what it is! It's been inside the whole time. Alternate branching, lobed, palmate, simple leaves. The leaf surface is slightly rough.

Looks like one of the finely dissected Hybrid Rosa-sinensis Hibiscus clones.

A hibiscus variety would be great. It's been four years, though, and it's shown no signs of any beautiful blooms- just more leaves. Maybe another mallow family member?
