This was a new one for me and unfortunately I've misplaced my copy of "Newcomb's." Can you help ID it for me?

It has these characteristics:

- unusual yellow flowers, each bloom less than 1" long
- plants are roughly 2-3' tall
- the largest leaves are maybe 4-6" long. Opposite and alternate.
- growing in a shale-ladened creek glen in Western NY State. A group of these plants were growing on the glen wall (ie very steep, almost vertical slope) so not in the water and no "wet feet." Even so, this is usually a very moist and humid-rich environment - though not currently as we are suffering from no rain for a month.
- Full shade, hence the need for a flash for some of the detail shots.

Many thanks for any pointers as to what it is!
