what is this?

I live in Buffalo, NY and received this plant as a house warming last year. Since then it has grown to app.3 feet high and its leaves are 15 inches. It is now sprouting multiple pink tube shaped flowers(?). It was supposedly an outside plant. What is it?

And not an outside plant......unless you live in South America :-))

The flower of this plant is a spathe, but unless one is turned away from the camera, I don't see any. The things between the leaves are cataphylls (leaf sheaths.)

I don't think this is the same kind of Philodendron, but a flower on your plant would look like this, with a thing in the middle. Very similar to a peace lily flower.
