Aesculus?

Don't the Aesculus just make one large seed inside a pod/shell? The seeds remind me of peony seeds but the leaves I see are definitely not peony. Can you tell us how tall and if the leaves in the pic are the owners to the pod or not.
I will be watching this one to see what it is. I love a mystery.

I was thinking the leaves did look like those of peony.

As far as can be seen.

But if we don't know where the picture was taken it could even be a tropical plant.
