Hi,

This plant shows up in my pot with my echinacea, any ideas? Is it a relative?

Thanks,
Bayla

Not really so bad. And it's native.

lady's thumb?

carenome1, the leaves lack the smudgy "thumbprints" to be Lady's thumb, but the smartweeds are close relatives.

Technically these are Persicarias rather than Polygonums, as they were re-classified. "The genus" [Persicaria] "was segregated from Polygonum."
