| this rather nice volunteer showed up in a nursery plant i bought. is it a weed or an actual cultivated plant? thanks |

| Not a weed :-) A sedum or stonecrop of some variety, possibly Sedum kamtschaticum. Stonecrops are extremely easy to propagate - just a small chunk broken off the mother plant can take root and produce a new plant. That's probably how yours came to be . |

| thanks, i checked the link, it is very similar. i was leaning towards it being a sedum, although not one i've seen before, but the leaves are not thick and fleshy, they are a thin as a regular leave, so i thought i must be wrong. i won't have to shovel prune it now. |
