| This sprawling, hairy plant was growing along the edge of a pond. It had heads about 0.4 inch across, and leaves as shown. I couldn't tell whether those flat, green objects were flowers, or if they were fruit. One of the flowers just opening appears to have a hint of red showing. And there are what may be three small bracts underneath the heads. It looks like a Geranium, but probably isn't. I also posted this on the Native Plant forum, but no replies yet (probably just too impatient).

| Check my post and see if the images match when your flowers open. ID'ed today as Modiola caroliniana. Always important to see the flower. |
