Not a Geranium?

This sprawling, hairy plant was growing along the edge of a pond. It had heads about 0.4 inch across, and leaves as shown. I couldn't tell whether those flat, green objects were flowers, or if they were fruit. One of the flowers just opening appears to have a hint of red showing. And there are what may be three small bracts underneath the heads. It looks like a Geranium, but probably isn't. I also posted this on the Native Plant forum, but no replies yet (probably just too impatient).

Check my post and see if the images match when your flowers open. ID'ed today as Modiola caroliniana.
Always important to see the flower.
