Mystery flower

My friend with a green thumb gave me some flowers from her garden that she'd pulled up by the roots. She doesn't know what they are, and I don't know either. They remind me of impatiens in that they like to be watered frequently and they make seeds like impatiens, that pop open when ripe and fling seed everywhere. They will also grow pretty readily from cuttings like impatiens do. They differ in that the plant has an upright habit, although it will lay down on the ground and root all along the stem, too. The flowers appear from between the leaves and they come in many colors. I've only got a red to show you here, but they are also pink, white and some other variations as well, including some that are more than one color. Do you know what they are?
