Odd, tiny flower

I could not tell if this was a young plant, or one that was already "open". It was found in a wet area under the pines. The first photo shows the whole plant, except for the root. It had opposite leaves (a bit like Sabatia), and flowers on peduncles that were extremely long for its size. The second photo shows that the narrower leaves are coarsely toothed, and the larger leaves are entire. The next two shots show the cross-view, where you can see the split hood at the flower's top. The fifth photo is of the flower from above, and the sixth is the flower underneath.

Chaenorrhinum species?

Here is a link that might be useful: Chaenorrhinum minus

Saltcedar, that put me in the right family, so I ran the keys from there. It doesn't look like Chaenorrhinum minus, because those have hairy stems. I think this is probably Lindernia dubia var. anagallidea (Slender False Pimpernel). I've seen that before on mudflats, but never on high ground. We also get L. dubia var. dubia (Common Pimpernel), which has broader leaves. Thanks for the push in the right direction.

Wow, looks nothing like the only other member of that genus I know.

Here is a link that might be useful: Lindernia crustacea

Yeah, here's a photo of L. dubia var. anagallidea that I took a couple of weeks ago. See if you think they're a match.

The species looks correct, I'm not confident I could recognize
the var. though.
