 o
Some type of currant?

Can anyone help me identify this plant? I just moved to a new property and the previous owner had a lot of plants. This is growing where it appears there was a vegetable garden at one time. It is very stressed and less lush than it might normally be. My garden is in Santa Barbara, CA near the ocean. Thanks!

Currant? No. This is a nightshade. Perhaps Solanum nigrum.

FataMorgana

Currants are woody shrubs with stiff branches.
