| I'm not sure if it is a fruiting variety or not (there are some mulberry trees that don't fruit). But next June look for fruit. It is edible. Some varieties have wonderful tasting fruit - the fruit tastes, well, like a mulberry. But to compare to something you know, most similar to a raspberry. Some varieties don't taste as fine. I have 2 mulberry trees planted by the previous owners. One is excellent tasting. The other, not so much. I say the fruit from the second tree tastes like sweetened cardboard. :^P This is a fun one for kids if you have a tasty tree. My own love it and help themselves to the fruit. FataMorgana |
