| Tomatillo, Physalis philadelphica or similar species. |
|
| It's something in the genus Physalis. Have you ever grown tomatillos? |
|
| Have I ever grown tomatillos? Not only have I never grown them,Ive never heard of them lol! This is my 1st year growing and tomatoes and peppers are the only thing I planted ,however I am looking forward to all the knowledge Ive been picking up here to be put to good use next year :) These just volunteered in a few spots around the house, luckily inside a raised bed and a container on the front porch |

| My tomatillos look exactly like yours this week. Just look up tomatillo salsa that's what I use them for |

| I had a bumper crop of tomatillos last year because I had emptied one of the compost bins into a new garden bed. Ooooodles of tomatillos sprouted and I left as many as I could. I had many-many-MANY quarts of tomatillos from the volunteer plants. I know some folks winter-sow tomatoes. I might try doing that with with some tomatillos. The seed obviously survives winter conditions here. (I get volunteers in the garden every year too.) FataMorgana |
