Looks like tiny mountain laurel

We were hiking today on a ridge-top heath barren. Lots of wild mountain laurel, ferns, lowbush blueberry, and wintergreen.

There were tons of these low-growing shrubs covered with hot pink flowers. The flowers look an awful lot like Mountain Laurel, but I didn't think ML bloomed so low to the ground like this. It's beautiful, whatever it is.

This picture gives a better idea of its growth habit; sorry for the blur.

Probably kalmia angustifolia, sheep laurel.

Here is a link that might be useful: Sheep Laurel

Ah, yes, sheep laurel. That's definitely it. Thank you!

It made for a very pretty hike. There were also all kinds of crazy tall ferns. Lovely habitat.
