This plant is growing in the middle of my flower bed. It keeps sending out tendrils and I keep cutting them off so it doesn't overcome my other plants. Is this a weed?

I hate to tell you, but you've been infested with bindweed - a perennial and very persistent relative of the morning glory. It spreads by roots and seeds and those seeds can survive under plastic ground cover for years. If the infestation is new try to get all of the roots and keep after it, and whatever you do, don't let it go to seed. BTDT - I moved!

Bindweed has alternate leaves. The plant in the OP appears to have opposite leaves. Perhaps if it flowers that would aid in identification.
