| New to herb gardening. This herb plant was supposed to be oregano but I tasted a fresh leaf that did not taste like oregano. So I thought I might dry it to see if that would make a difference in the flavor but it still doesn't taste anything like oregano. It has a mild grassy flavor with a hint of lemon. I don't know if I like the flavor or not.
The plant grew long sprigs with those little green leaves up each shaft, no flowers. I cut it back when the sprigs were 3 or 4 inches tall. Any ideas? |

| It does look like Oregano. Oregano tastes different depending on the variety, and obviously the one you got is mildly flavored. I can tell by the way it looks, it is not Greek Oregano. I think you probably would like Greek Oregano. It has fuzzy grey green leaves and white flowers. The flavor is stronger. Remy |

| Looks like oregano to me too. Growing conditions can effect flavor. Plus dried, like the oregano you're probably used to, also tastes different from the fresh. FataMorgana |
