I planted this from a catalogue plant - now I have 3 and they are beautiful but I have lost all info regarding it. Please help!

Dahlia 'Twyining's Smartie', to be exact :)

Yes a dahlia - looks like a 'Twyning's Smartie'.

Here is a link that might be useful: Twyning's Smartie

Thank you all so much!

Yes, I did order Twyning's Dahlia; I guess I just didn't think, ( obviously), that was it.
You folks are the greatest!
Right now, I have them in pots on my deck - we have a lot of deer in the area. Can I winter them in the garage and put them out again in the late spring?
Thanks!

They should tuber up and you can save the tubers much like you would a canna. It's a lot easier than trying to winter over pots and accomplishes the same result.

In my zone, I have to dig them up in the Fall and store them in the basement for the winter. As far as I know, they cannot handle a freeze.

I live in 7b/8a in alabama. half of my dahlias survived "icemageddon 2014" while half did not. Ironically, the only ones that survived were my twying dahlias.
