I have tried to identify these vines but no luck
- grew to about 3' along shed wall in full sun. I trimmed it down but it grew right back in just a week! No flowers (yet) ...

I thought so as well but it just kept growing out and around never flowered? I had thought it would have by now... I will let it grow out again and maybe get some flowers! Thanks

RE: Mystery Plants

A lesson learned. Get an id before chopping ;-) If you cut off its head at 3 feet you almost certainly prevented it from flowering first time around. Now it's trying again. Watch and wait. When it flowers you might get an id on the Clematis forum here on GW. Then you can find out when it should be pruned. You might also want to weed around it and get rid of the Oxalis, Glechoma hederacea and (possibly) Conyza canadensis which are crowding it. You are lucky to have such a lovely plant. Good luck.

Ha! If you think its crowded now - it was growing under an overgrown, untended cypress! We cut that down last fall. I am slowly making headway on all the other plantings around it!
