| We just moved into our first house (in Madison, WI) and we were tending to the yard for the first time when I encountered several of these plants (or weeds?). They were in amongst a bunch of overgrown weeds and grasses, so I assume they were not specifically planted there, but I cannot be certain. It is rather tall, 1-2 feet, with those very bright green seed pods (?) and the odd-colored stems/stalks.
I've done an exhaustive search online with no luck in identifying it. Being relatively new to gardening, I admit that my knowledge of plants is limited to whatever we had growing around my childhood home in Northern NJ. I apologize in advance if it is obvious and thanks for any info you can provide! |

| I believe it's an Arisaema seed pod, perhaps Arisaema triphyllum. |

| Yup. I would agree - a Jack in the pulpit. I'd consider myself very lucky. |

| Wow! Thank you for the quick responses! I had never seen that before, and having seen other photos now on the internet, I'm excited to see what they will look like when they bloom. Thanks again! |
