This bush planted itself and I need to cut it down because it is overgrowing a Rhody. Before I do that I would like to know what it is and if those berries are edible. If they are I might wait a few weeks to harvest them.

It might help to know that I am in the Seattle area. Thanks in advance for the help.

Yes, they are edible as long as you add about a bucket of sugar to a cup of berries, lol. You'll find them quite....tart.
