Found this plant just south of Upper Kananaskis Lake, 6800 feet up. I searched for others in the area and this was the only one I could find. Any help identifying would be excellent thanxs

What on earth was it doing in Alberta????????????????? Is it an area where people scatter ashes and therefore might have random floral tributes strewn about?
|
Now there's an idea, Flora. I've been wondering how on earth it could have survived up there long enough to flower. The thought crossed my mind that it was someone's idea of a joke, too. But your idea might be the most reasonable. OP...did you check to see if it was actually planted in the ground?

Wow. If it does survive a Canadian winter, it will certainly survive a Western NY State winter and I would love some seeds! Ah, but probably not the case.... FataMorgana
