| I found this very small branch (among many others) a few weeks ago while taking a walk through the woods. I picked it up and later cut it up into very small pieces for some jewelry I was making.
Problem is, in my excitement I forgot to actually check what kind of tree it was before I did it... There's the photo of what is left of it, as well as one of the slices I made. It's alternately branched with very fine rings (slow growing), smooth gray bark, many knot scars, and it still remained flexible even after it had been dried for a very long time. My first instinct was either Beech or Ash, but I could be way of. |

| Oh well, here goes ..... Populus sp???? They stay flexible and have scars similar to what I can just about make out. |

| Actually now that I think about it, there are quite a few Quaking Aspens that grow up along the trail I plucked this from... (problem is I don't remember where, precisely, I got this particular branch). Haha, I know the picture doesn't really help much. |

| This guy is in Ontario and it helps to have a few ideas already as it is in a species list format, but he knows his twigs and has tons of close-up photos. It's a winter tree ID guide, so no leaves. |
