Can you name this plant that is overtaking my stone wall?

I started this plant from seed a number of years ago and grew it in hanging pots for a few years. It has always seemed to survive the winter although it suffers. I transplanted some into the garden behind the stone wall and it has sort of taken over! Blooms white flowers in the spring...sort of just grayish now in the heat of the summer. Can't remember if it reblooms in the fall. Any thoughts?

thanks,

dan

looks like the picture is rotated 90 degrees...sorry!

Can't see any picture but is it Cerastium tomentosum?

Here is a link that might be useful: Cerastium tomentosum

...'sort of taken over ...' was a massive clue!

The gardenweb "name that plant" award goes to ... flora uk. An ID without a picture - so much great knowledge on this board!

White flowers with grey foliage and growing in/on a wall doesn't leave much room for choice :-) It was Cerastium or nothing :-)

Tip - cut the plant back after flowering. It will make it more compact and dense and eliminate that scruffy, leggy appearance it develops after the bloom season.

You know that, and I know that, gardengal - but you could have let me bask a little longer before bursting my bubble;-)
