Not milkweed but I'll leave the ID to the experts! As far as I know most milkweed has a distinctive flower....colours may vary but the bloom has this shape....

RE: Purple Milkweed?

It a species of Ironweed, aka Vernonia. Ironweeds are native plants and attract butterflies, bees and other pollinators. Most are late summer bloomers.
