Epilobium montanum, broad-leaved willowherb.

It can seed pretty prolifically in my experience, so unless you want it around for a good while, you probably want to remove it or at least cut it way back before it goes to seed.

You're not kidding nhbabas, I came back home after a few days on vacation and there's seeds all over now. It's very unique how the seeds are inside the individual stems that peel back. Is this an invasive species in parts of the USA? I don't think I've seen it in southern MN.

I'm curious as to the clues that caused that specie's ID...maybe I need to go check all the epilobium in my yard.

The long thin sepals with a tiny petaled flower at the end clued me in immediately.

Yes, epilobiums like this are invasive.There's a similar species here that always pops up in my garden.
