Tree/shrub with berries

dfaustclancy

This tree/shrub grows in central Massachusetts, along a boggy pond on our property. It is in a very wet situation and is definately a wild deciduous plant. It has grown up to 20+ feet. Birdies like the berries, so I haven't removed all of them -- yet!

In the New England forum some of the guesses have been:

--arrowwood viburnum (I don't think its this.)
--silky dogwood (doubt it)
--glossy buckthorn (Frangula alnus - used to be Rhamnus frangula) VERY good possibility that it IS buckthorn

Any experts out there? Also, how to control methods. Thanks for your attention/responses.
