| I just moved into a new home that has a lot of existing landscaping. I have no experience in gardening, and plan on post multiple times over the next couple of weeks to ask about what I have out there. (and I'll post a couple today to start)
Anyway, the attached image is the first...I have a lot of ivy ground cover. In one location, I have these things with long leaves growing up out of the ivy. What is this? If not just a weed, would it be intentional to have this in an ivy bed? Thanks! |

| Perhaps a daylily? |

| More likely the intention was a day lily bed and the ivy has invaded. You also have a healthy Canada thistle there which you'll want to dig out before it seeds. |
