Name That Plant!

5 green flowers?

I found this flower by a drainage pond in Dover, DE. It was low to the ground, and had 5 green flowers with 5 petals each radiating from the top of the stem. Just below that, there were 5 sepals. Can anybody help me ID this? It's going in my collection of flowering plants.

It's a little harder to identify after it's dried, but my first guess would be an Asclepias.

Nah, only 5 buttercup-sized flowers. They were arranged in a fashion more like a bowl than a sphere.

Some kind of Euphorbia? Was it easy to pull or did it have a fairly extensive root system? i.e. was it likely an annual or a perennial?

Thank you so much. It's Euphorbia Helioscopa (Sun Spurge). Just added the genus name, and an image search quickly came up with the species.
