Name That Plant!

Request for help identifying a fruit bearing bush

These fruit bearing plants are growing quite happily along a disused bike path behind my local mega-mart. If someone could help me identify them I would be most appreciative. My best guess is that they might be some kind of elderberry.

This is a European Buckthorn and they are an invasive species.

They look to have been intentionally planted. They live in a small mulch bed as shown in the last photo. Strange that someone would plant an invasive species, but I guess that is how they got here in the first place.

Looks like Aronia melanocarpa to me, a native species.

I don't know the Aronia but it is neither elderberry nor buckthorn.

I think that lycopus has it right with Aronia Melanocarpa (a.k.a. Black Chokeberry). The google image search for those terms shows plants with nicely matching features.
