No it isn't a crabapple, my son says it isn't also.

Open up one of the fruits and see if the inside looks like an apple. Also look at the bottom of the fruit and compare that to how the bottom of an apple looks.

Looks like a crabapple to me also, both from the fruit and the leaves. Crabapple fruits come in a wide range of colors and sizes, including pinkish, reddish, brownish, gold and yellow, and in size from just bigger than a large pea to the size of a small apple. Some types have pink blossoms and some have white.

Thanks I'll google and try to id exactly what kind of Crabapple it is.
This is located in front of my sons house in Ontario. I think it was put in when the landscaping was done. I see them all along the street in front of the houses on this street.

Some time ago over 500 kinds had been determined to have been grown in North America, at one time or another. Perhaps most of these are still present - unless this is a common one and you happen to see a picture of it and make the connection, you won't be too likely to nail it down just looking around a bit on the internet. Details of the flowers, leaves and fruits all pertain.
