This plant resembles mayapple but differs in the following way, as described by the person who took this photo: "The mayapple fruit hangs down under the leaves; this plant's seed pods are upright. However, the leaves of this plant and the leaves of the mayapple do look similar." The person who took the photo found the plant on Mount Rogers in Virginia.
