Is this some leafy vegetable plant? It has big leaves not sure what this is

Brussels sprouts, I think. It's been a while since I grew them.

One would expect to see the edible sprouts around the stalk on such a mature plant, is this a test / have they been removed, or eaten by pests?

I'm not sure it is that far along in development, the sprouts may in fact be yet to come.

I'd vote with Salt. It's not quite right for sprouts ... and I see an awful lot of them. But I've never seen a collard plant except in pictures.

Looks a lot like some variety of collards to me as well.....

Ya I also initially thought if this is brussel sprouts but I have never seen it bear any sprouts, so wasn't sure what this is, may be it could be collard
