| These plants are the wooded edge of my property. Please ID if you can? Lower Hudson Valley of New York.the first three are the same plant, attempting to get a decent photo. the last one is different. Thanks! |

| Maybe Solanum carolinense. I get them here quite a bit in Western NY. I don't see any thorns on this one which would be unusual for Solanum carolinense but we could not see the underside of the leaves - one of its thorniest locations. This is a common weed in one of my vegetable beds and I find quite a variety in their thorniness. Also the thorniness varies with age too. Young plants seem less thorny than the veterans coming back from roots I haven't managed to pull completely out. Compare and see what you think. FataMorgana |
