Tropical flower, need help identifying

Posted by loesje Panama (My Page) on

Found this flower growing on an earth wall (baranca), pretty much obscured by a bushy tree. The stem leading to the flower is very long (orchid like). The flower was observed at approx. 5000 ft in the mountains of Chiriqui, Panama. Roots are exposed on the wall (again like orchids). I have never seen this flower before, perhaps because it was obscured by foliage.
I hope there is someone on the forum who can help me with identification.
Thanks so much
