| This is growing in profusion in a friends cutting garden. She tells me her husband purchased it, and she has never seen it bloom. It is 6-8 ft tall, full sun. Blooms are appearing on top third of stalk, and arise from the leaf axil. Buds are about 1/2 inch, with soft sepal, and often are multiple blooms.
My friend needs help removing these, but we want to know what they are first. Thanks for the help!! |

| None have opened yet, but when I pry them open it seems like they will be white. Many thread like petals with green ends. |

| The flower buds remind me of a Helianthus. FataMorgana |

| When they open, post another picture. It does seem similar to Helianthus and perhaps the flowers are not developed enough to show yellow when you open them. |

| Could it be Helianthus maximilliani? (I have never seen it myself) |

| Thanks all!! I will visit for a week or so, and try to find this helianthus suspect blooming. Image searching shows definite similarities, in flower structure, and blooming time. I'll post images as I can. |

Please include a habit shot. Closeups are handy but the overall character of the plant is important as well. |
