Weed Indeed

Ever since I stopped using weed n feed and other weed killers on my yard this plant has been slowly spreading around the south side of my yard and taking over the bare spots... and I LOVE it. I would not be sad at all if it took over all my turf grass and cover my entire yard. It is a nice shade of green, has tiny white flowers to break up the green, it is super soft on bare feet and appears to be extremely resistant to traffic as this patch in the photo gets walked upon several times daily as I go to and from my shed.

I have tried looking it up through Google, but lets face it, when you put in the characteristics of mystery plants, you get over-loaded with a whole slew of plants that have similar features. Thank you ahead of time for your time and attention.

RE: Weed Indeed

You know, I swear I've look at diamondflower before, but the images I saw before didn't match up. The images in your linked article do match up and the growth method matches what I've encountered, namely the large taproot for a large plant structure. I did start pulling this when I first saw it, going with the thinking, "If it's not grass, it's a weed." But as it has become more prevalent and I've walked on it, often barefooted, I've come to enjoy the stuff. It's good to see that it easily reseeds itself.

Thanks a bunch.
