I see that it's in a pot. Is it hardy where you are or do you not know whether it is or not?

I was kind of wondering about camellia too. Could we see a close-up of a leaf or two?

Thanks so much. It certainly could be a Camellia. No way to know the hardiness since we don't know what it is. I have posted a pic of the leaves. I am new at this, so I hope it appears. If this is a Camellia, I am not sure what to do with it since we are zone 5. Any suggestions?

Looks almost looks more like photinia to me at that closeup.

I agree, looks like Photinia. If it is, this evergreen species is hardy to Zone 7. Definitely not camellia though.

Somebody in a nursery thought it might be a tree peony? argh
